Fly ash (FA) and Ground Granulated Blast-furnace Slag (GGBS) are supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) that replace part of OPC. They reduce COโ, improve durability, and lower cost. IS 456 permits substitution; IS 3812 and IS 12089 specify quality. Standard PPC and PSC cement already include FA/GGBS at the factory.
