IS 1200:2000 (Part 5) is the Indian Standard (BIS) for method of measurement of building and civil engineering works, part 5: formwork. This part of IS 1200 establishes the method of measurement for formwork (shuttering) in building and civil engineering works. It is used extensively by quantity surveyors, billing engineers, and estimators to calculate the correct contact areas of formwork, make appropriate deductions, and categorize formwork items for accurate BOQ preparation and contractor billing.
